Overview          

The epitome of this  7 days (6 nights) gorilla trekking tour is  Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in southwestern Uganda and home to half of the endangered mountain gorillas  (approximately 630 individuals).  Depending on availability of gorilla permits at the time of confirmation, our preferred trekking point is , Ruhija,  Buhoma, Rushaga or Nkuringo

Tour Summary

  • You arrive in Uganda, the pearl of Africa – through Entebbe International Airport.
  • You proceed to  Hotel In Kampala or Protea by Marriot in Entebbe.
  • Proceed by road  to Kibale  Forest National Park  for Chimpanzee .
  • Take a boat ride on Kazinga Chanel, inside Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • Face to face with a Gorilla in Bwindi.
  • Spend the last night at Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s 2nd deepest lake.
  • Take a drive to Lake Mburo National Park, for a night game drive experience.
  • This tour starts in Entebbe International Airport and ends at in Entebbe International Airport (Uganda).

 

Day-By-Day: Detailed Itinerary;

DAY 01: Arrival

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, and welcome to the Pearl Of Africa -Uganda. Your trip manager meets, welcome and drive you to your hotel.

Depending on the time of arrival, refresh and take a lazy drive around the city. Return to your Hotel for a Dinner and rest.

Accommodation: 

Victoria Serena Hotel / Skyz Hotel by Marriot or Entebbe Protea Hotel by Marriot.

Meal Plan:  Half Board

 

DAY 02: To Kibale NP, the Worlds Primate Capital

Wake up to a normal breakfast and set off from your Hotel in Kampala or Entebbe to Kibale National Park, also known as the Worlds Primate capital.

Arrive at your lodge for lunch, refresh and prepare for a late afternoon chimpanzee tracking.

After the thrilling experience with the Chimpanzees and other rare primates, return to your lodge for diner and a night rest.

Day 03:  Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Wake up to a lazy breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s oldest national Park known for the world’s highest concentration of birdlife and hippos.

Check in your lodge, refresh and take a lazy lunch as you gaze at the wonders of nature.

After a possible lunch sister, set off for a 3 hours boat-ride on the Kazinga Channel, a natural water channel connecting lake George and lake Edward, (bordering the DRCongo), The tip will bring you very close to lots of animals and birds, as they stroll for a n evening fresh water drink.

The ride will also give you an amazing sundowner, as the sun shys away into the hilly horizons of the Eastern DRCongo.

Day 04: Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Wake up to an early Morning Game to the Kasenyi sector, a rich ecological section of the park. A mating ground for antelopes where cats find prey  with ease.  Return to your lodge for a late breakfast and , check out.

Set off to Bwindi, through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Southern sector , popular for the tree climbing lions.  Continue with your scenic drive through the Kigezi Highlands , also known as the “Switzerland of Africa”,  to Bwindi NP  for overnight  at your lodge. Check in at your Lodge in Bwindi and prepare for the real thrill.

DAY 05: Face to Face with a Gorilla – experience. 

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Gorilla Trek. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures.

You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

After the thrilling gorilla trek, you will take a late afternoon drive to Lake Bunyonyi, African 2nd deepest lake, dotted with 29 islands, where each Island tells its own story.

DAY 06: To Lake Mburo National Park

Wake up to a lazy breakfast and drive to  Lake Mburo National park. On the way, you drive through an amazing scenery, while encountering the legendary Ankole long horned cows.

Take a lunch stopover the Igongo Country Hotel and Cultural Centre. Continue to the Park, about 40 kms away.  Check in your Lodge , relax as you prepare for a thrilling Night game drive.

 

DAY 07: To Kampala or Entebbe international Airport. 

Wake up to a normal breakfast, check out and set off for Entebbe International Airport or Kampala City.   On the way, you will make a second stop at the Equator monument, take pics, if interested, buy a souvenir or a memorable equator bite and proceed to Entebbe in time for your flight back home.

Uganda still has a lot to offer, at an extra cost, you may sample Kampala day and night life.
