10 DAYS 9 NIGHTS UGANDA PRIMATES, NILE AND SAFARI EXPERIENCE.

You will arrive in Uganda and travel to The Source of the Nile,  Murchison Falls National Park.

Expect a detour visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, game drive, to the top of the falls,  and launch trip to the bottom of the falls, .

Thereafter, transfer to Kibale National Park for the chimp trekking experience. Exit Kibale and go to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will enjoy game drives plus a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel.

Transfer to Bwindi for the ultimate gorilla experience. From Bwindi, visit Lake Mburo before concluding in Entebbe.

Day 1: Kampala and Jinja – Source of the Nile Murchison

 

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a Gorilland TravelCare Uganda   guide/driver who will welcome you to Uganda—the Pearl of Africa. Thereafter, you will be transferred to your booked accommodation.

In case you have had an early landing in Uganda, you may proceed to Jinja (1/2 hours) the source of the Nile.

Check in at your hotel. Depending on the arrival time, you may go bungy jump (extra), or sip your favorite drink at the balcony of your room watching the sunset.

Day 2:   Source of the River  Nile i

Wake up to normal breakfast, drive to the Source of the Nile, take a canoe and ride to the exact cradle point of the world’s longest river that pours into the Mediterranean Sea.

After lunch, take a 75 kms drive back to Kampala, via The Uganda Martyrs Shrine, Namugongo. A center where Uganda’s 36 early Christian Coverts were bunt because of their new faith. They’ve since been named saints.  Since the beautification 1969, all reigning (4) Popes have paid their Pilgrimage here.

After the site, continue to Ndere Centre, Uganda’s premier cultural center for dinner and entertainment.

Day 3:   To Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison falls on the Victoria section of the River Nile is believed to be the most powerful falls. As part of your Uganda experience, take an early breakfast and set off on the drive, the morning, the driver heading out to Murchison Falls which is in the northern part of Uganda.

Along the way, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola where rhinos are being reintroduced to the wild in Uganda. This will enable  you have a complete feel of the Uganda’s Big Five mammals, as it is the rhinos, out of the Big Five that are missing in Murchison Falls National Park.  The normally 2 -3 hours Trekking around the sanctuary is on foot.

After the trek, you take your Lunch at the sanctuary. You will have lunch at the sanctuary and some relax s little, then embark on a 2 hours drive to your lodge after making a memorable stop over at the Top of the Murchison Fall, where, the 960 meter wide river suddenly squeezes in a 8 meters, forming a breath taking view.  Afterwards, proceed back to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 4:   Bottom of the Murchison Falls National Park

 

Wake up to a lazy breakfast, take a mid-morning swim at the lodge as you watch animals’ pace across.

In the late afternoon, take a drive for a Boat ride to the bottom of the falls. (It is a shared boat)

Besides the magnificent water falls, will be able to see various Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, elephants along the banks of the Nile as well as different beautiful birds some singing in the trees such as the bee eaters, the colored kingfishers, the shoe billed stork and many others. The boat ride will take you to the base/bottom of the Murchison Falls where you will command a clear view of the mighty falls. After the thrill, return to the lodge for diner and sleep.

Day 5:   Transfer to Kibaale Forest  National Park 

Wake up for an early breakfast at transfer to Kibaale, Through the oil drilling areas. the oil city of Hoima and via the beautiful natural terrains and rea plantations, to Fort Portal tourist’s city.

Evening:  Drive to the Hotel Springs in the Rwenzori Mountains:

Day 6:  Kibale Forest National Park

Wake up to a normal breakfast and take a one-hour drive to the Kibake national park.

The first activity will be the Bigodi Bird sanctuary, a celebrated birders paradise.

After birding, we head to the lodge check in, refresh, take our lunch as we prepare for the afternoon Chimpanzees trekking session. After the trekking, you will be issued with a trekking certificate by the Uganda wildlife Authority.

Note; Kibale National Park is the primate capital of East Africa. Chimpanzee trekking is a fulfilling adventure that takes you deep in the tropical forest across streams of water. You might have sightings of red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white Columbus monkeys, butterflies, and birds calling from the canopies while on this safari. With the help of your guide, you will locate the chimps. Enjoy picture moments and watch them as they play and feed.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today after breakfast, our tour continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a wildlife experience in the plain of Kasenyi. The drive will take us through views of several crater lakes and the mystical Rwenzori Mountain ranges en-route. On arrival in the park, we shall check, and take lunch,

In the afternoon, have a small game drive as through the lake’s sections to the landing where we will have a boat ride on the Kazinga Chanel, a natural water channel connecting lake Edward and Lake George, inside the National Park. The boat experice will get us face to face with lots of jumbos and birds as they take their evebing drink before retiring to the pads in the wild.

Day 8:  Game Drive and transfer to Bwindi

Have an early morning breakfast then go for a morning game drive within the park., specifically to the antelope mating site.   After the drive, proceed to Bwindi, depending on the Gorilla tracking section, we may drive through the Ishasha sector, known for tree climbing lions. Or, drive through the bellowing Kigezi hills – the Switzerland of Africa.  Arrive at the lodge, check in , relax as we prepare for the morning trekking of the gentle giants.

Day 9: ace to Face with a Gorilla 

After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start the trekking. The activity can last up to 4 hours or more to find the Mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. Hence, you will have a packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought-after creatures, the mountain gorillas. Upon reaching them, you will have a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos.

After the thrilling experience, take a drive to Africa’s second deepest lake, an alpine lake dotted with an archipelago of 29 islands, each giving her own interesting storu.

Day 10: To Entebbe International Airport

After having an early breakfast, set off to an exciting 7 hours’ drive, through the bellowing green terrace capped Kigezi highlands, Ankole, the Home to the Long-horned cows, crossing the Equator again, and then Mbambire souvenir market.

We will have our lunch at Igongo cultural center, inform of the 1520 Birarwe eclipse monument.

Alternatively, you can take a domestic flight from Kisoro to Entebbe (extra cost) as opposed to the 7 hours’ drive,

End of Safari.

Please, Confirm Your trip with payment of at least 60% of the Total Trip cost, and 100% gorilla Permit cost to enable us procure the Gorilla Permits in time. 

It is the availability and purchase of the Gorilla Permits that confirms the date of travel. Otherwise, the normal time for Purchase of gorilla permits at least 3 months to the tracking day.
